5 Magnetic Content Ideas for Social Media
The biggest question that I get with Social Media Marketing is…
What should I post?
I get it. When I first started marketing on social media over 10 years ago, I was throwing spaghetti at the wall every single day! But here’s the secret that a lot of business owners miss when they start tossing the spaghetti into their Instagram posts… it can be like an experiment at first.
The algorithm is learning your likes, your niche and your audience. So the algorithm gods will have some posts do really well, and others will flop.
And that’s totally fine! Read that again! It actually doesn’t matter how many likes you get! The point of Social Media Marketing is not to go viral…although it is fun to get hundred of thousands more eyeballs on your content!
If you haven’t had multiple posts absolutely flop… then you are playing too safe. Celebrate every single post!
You are training your algorithm with every swipe so be mindful of what you’re consuming and engaging with on your socials!
Everyone is selling something on social media these days. So….Go bigger & Be bold. You have to stand out and stand for something, in order for people to pay attention to what you’re doing, saying and selling.

1. Share your story
Take us back to when you first started your business. This is where you can tap into your storytelling content. Make your audience feel something by painting the picture. Give us the cliff notes version of how you’ve gotten to where you are now, and celebrate yourself. Bonus points if you can relate your story to the product or service that you are currently selling!
2. Show behind the scenes
B-Roll video is really trending right now on Instagram reels. Plus, it’s so easy to grab B-Roll footage from anywhere! If you are sitting on your couch working on your computer right now (like I am) you can easily set up your phone and take 30 seconds to 1 min of video.
3. Start a series of posts
I did this with “Lazy Girl Content Ideas” and people LOVED it! Think of what you audience would love to learn more about! Content creation is a pretty wide subject so I created multiple reels and labeled them as Part 1,2,3 etc!
4. Success stories and testimonials
If you haven’t already…start collecting (take screenshots) or download any testimonials to your work! Save them in a file and share the to your feed! This helps your audience see that if “THEY got help from them, so can I!”
5. Be entertaining and show your personality
Entertaining content is hands down the most popular content that is enjoyed and SHARED! So, maybe you love The Office and resonate with that kind of humor. Chances are your audience will too! So don’t be scared! Use that Micheal Scott audio and create a funny reel! Bonus points: If you can incorporate your products or services into the reel!
